This image on the right is from the 1966 Spring edition of 'Expedition' magazine. The article is called 'Imlohe and the mysteries of the Passismanua, Southwest New Guinea' by Jane C. Goodale. The caption in the top right reads 'A group of visitors at a dance. Although recently pacified, no man would attend a ceremonial dance at a neighbouring village unarmed - without his spear and carved wooden shield'.
